Oh Yeah, the movie page.
Over the year end Holidays, I saw two movies, and neglected to post anything about them. The first was "Milk". Good film. Sean Penn did a fantastic job of channeling Harvey Milk. I was living in the Berkeley when all that went down, so it took me back. All the old footage was cool to see as well.
The other one was "Slumdog Millionaire". What an amazing film. Its the kind of movie you think about for a couple of days after you see it. It takes time to digest. But it highly recommended by the Peebster.

Just saw Gran Torino. Great movie.
Made me cry like a little girl.
Ya got to listen to the song at the end during the
credits. Great song co-written by Clint Eastwood.
He sings a couple of verses but gives way to a
way better voice.

Saw Star Trek last night. Better than I thought it would be.
They managed to get all of the Cliche's in that you'd expect.

Oh yeah. I saw Wolverine a few weeks ago. I saw Star Trek yesterday. They were both what I expected, but I enjoyed both of them. I'd like to see Up. That looks good actually.

I showed Dr. Stangelove (or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb) to the kid last week. He had read Catch-22 for school and I figured that this would be a good follow-up to that. Kubrick was a fuckin' genius and Peter Sellers is hilarious.

BTW, don't bother with the moooovie version of Catch-22, it sucks. Gotta read to read the book to get the full effect.

Has anyone out there seen Avatar? I have mixed feelings about seeing it. The special effects intrigue me, but the storyline sounds really mundane.

Same here, Peebs- I saw some 3-D previews and the technology looks way cool but the story looks like just more ho-hum fantasy fodder. It looks like an expensive nap to me.

When I heard he named the planet "Pandora" (as in box), and the element everyone's after "unobtainium", I didn't hold high expectations for the plot.

The Assasination of Richard Nixon
I just wrote a whole big long review of the fucker and forgot to hit fucking submit!!!
The movie's great. Everybody in it kicks ass, especially Brian Brown, the Australian who is becoming the greatest "American" charactor actor since J.T. Walsh. Sean Penn seems to be channeling Dustin Hoffman and it works.
Get Netflix (which totally rules) and get this film.
Doh.......
